Entering the road that leads to the Valley is to undertake a journey to the heart of Samaná, driving on a somewhat bumpy road and immersing yourself in the local and rural life of the Dominican Republic, passing through improvised cricket fields where it is easy to find locals practicing this sport in the afternoon.
It is easy to miss the entrance sign to El Valle Lodge, as the road that turns right is narrow. It has 8 rustic-chic cabins (as they call them), which are reached by stone and wood paths through the forest, and in which no key is used, since trust is key.
The only area with Wi-Fi is the restaurant, located in front of the river, where breakfasts are served made with products from the own garden or bought in nearby markets. This is also where the nest and the hammocks are, a chillout area to dedicate yourself to doing nothing and enjoying nature.
In this case, that of better quality than quantity is fulfilled. There are few rooms, but all of them are exquisite. The semi-open bathroom is striking, so you have the feeling of taking a shower in the middle of the jungle, really a luxury to connect with nature.
Explore hidden trails and waterfalls, relax on a lounger watching the waves crash, ride a small boat accompanied by locals to a pristine beach, or reconnect with regenerative activities.
At the end of the day, enjoy a cocktail watching the sunset over the palm trees and delight yourself with our culinary specialties straight from the garden to the table.
