Botanical Garden of Santiago is a unique park with the largest variety of endemic plants, also called Prof. Eugenio de Jesús Marcano Ecological Park located in Santiago de los Caballeros.
It was created as a unique and exceptional space where the conditions would be combined to make it a paradise for our flora, and thus take care of our Mother Nature.
The creation of a Theme Park was projected where the most emblematic botanical species of the Cibao Valley would be preserved; as well as the banks of germplasm and genetic material of incalculable value of the Dominican flora.
It occupies an area of more than 600,000 square meters and represents the main green space of the Municipality of Santiago de los Caballeros, emphasizing the care and protection of the plants it has in order to have the greatest variety of endemic and non-endemic plants.
The park inside is divided into several areas, these areas are always reached on foot or by bicycle that you can take or rent within the complex. There is a bike path on a separate lane painted red. This lane goes around the entire garden until it reaches the entrance again. The areas in which the enclosure is divided can be found on the garden’s website.
