Salto de Socoa Natural Monument in Monte Plata

The Salto de Socoa Natural Monument is one of the best kept secrets in the Dominican Republic, this is how the impressive Natural Monument is hidden, an ideal spa to enjoy with family or with a group of friends. It is considered one of the most paradisiacal ecotourism destinations in the country.

The Salto de Socoa is near the Los Haitises National Park, within the green mountains of the municipality of Sabana Grande de Boyá, Monte Plata province. It can be reached by the Autopista Samaná (Autopista del Nordeste), approximately 60 kilometers (45 minutes) from the Autopista Las Américas.

This spa has a waterfall about 20 meters high that flows into a pool of cold and crystal clear waters that you can swim in, and is surrounded by typical vegetation of a tropical rainforest, it is located on private property. So you have to pay a low cost ticket per person plus others for parking.

Adventurers and visitors must follow a small path with stairs to the spa, although the route has an easy degree of difficulty, it carries with it an interesting experience.
